All we ask is that you engage with others in the community and give over 10% of your time sharing your skills and insights with others.
Lockdown has been a time of reflection for people and businesses.
To say that times have changed feels deeply inadequate.
It was no different for us. Plus10 has come a long way and made lots of pivots in 7 years. Some of the time we got things right and just as often we made mistakes. We knew what we wanted to do but we didn’t start with a well thought out “Play-Book” with lots of Milestones/KPIs/Metrics. If we had a business plan it never made it on to paper. In retrospect what it was, was fun. There was a buzz and a huge sense of fulfilment about those early years.
That enforced Covid reflection has lead us back to our genesis -That of a - Start-up Pop-up Space.
Ironically when we first floated the idea past the powers that be back then one response was
“Oh. Right…, that might be a bit too innovative for us”
Our initial aim in 2012 was to create a space where people with ideas and ambition could be afforded the time and space to battle test both. Space was free but you committed to giving 10%(hence +10) of your time to other Start-ups or the community. It was a simple idea, but it worked. Now, lots of Start-ups and jobs later we have decided to rededicate ourselves as the city faces some very challenging times.
Fortunately, having been born out the last recession we have acquired both a resilience and an understanding of what it takes to get through difficult times and thankfully we are in a position to again open our doors and offer Free membership to 6-8 ambitious, determined start-ups for the next 6 or 8 months.
